I was online and seen a woman use this method of painting half a canvas and creating an outline of a portrait with thread. I really liked the idea so I decided to try it out myself however it didn't turn out as well as i hoped it would have. i know that i went wrong with the thickness of the thread as mine is clearly too thin. i am hoping to purchase some thicker thread and have a second attempt as i do think it'll look good if done correctly.

The descent from the cross by Rogier van der Weyden
The descent from the Cross is a panel painting by the Flemish artist Rogier van der Weyden created in 1435. In the full painting Christ is being lowered from the cross after being crucified however I focused on the weeping nun in the back ground. I have started an oil painting as well as a pencil drawing from the same reference picture as seen below.
